First Harvest Credit Union's Annual Pink Ribbon Program Raises $3,000 for MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper

First Harvest Credit Union’s Charitable Journey Program recently donated $3,000 to The Cooper Foundation, benefitting the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, in support of breast cancer patients and research. The Pink Ribbon Program is a fundraising initiative led annually by First Harvest employees and collect monetary donations made by members, employees, and First Harvest Credit Union.

Charitable Journey is an employee-led program established in 2015 by a volunteer group of First Harvest employees with a passion to serve our community. In addition to its quarterly fundraising initiatives to support various charities, the program also collects funds each October to directly support breast cancer research and awareness through the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper.

“Each year, we’re reminded of how powerful community support can be in the fight against breast cancer,” said Generosa Grana, MD, FACP, Director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. “Gifts like these strengthen our ability to deliver advanced care, offer meaningful resources to patients and families, and reinforce the critical message of early detection, which remains essential in saving lives.”

“We are proud to continue our partnership with and support The Cooper Foundation and MD Anderson at Cooper in the extraordinary work that they do to advance vital healthcare in our region,” stated First Harvest President & CEO, Mike Dinneen. “Each year, our First Harvest team goes above and beyond to make an impact in the health, wellbeing, and overall advocacy for breast cancer patients and research. Through initiatives like our Pink Ribbon Program, our First Harvest family is able to support Cooper Foundation in their efforts to amplify breast cancer advocacy throughout Southern New Jersey.”

Since inception, the Charitable Journey Program has donated over $65,000 to local charities and organizations.
