CAMDEN POLICE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION JOINS FIRST HARVEST CREDIT UNION

11/01/2021

The Camden Police Board’s decision to join First Harvest was confirmed by a vote of the Camden Police membership.

The merger gives members of Camden Police Federal Credit Union access to all of First Harvest Credit Union’s services, including ten branch locations, extended banking hours, use of over 55,000 surcharge-free ATMs, online banking services, Tuition Rewards, and other benefits. Camden Police Federal Credit Union members will now be served at First Harvest Credit Union’s Camden branch, located at 227 Market Street.

“We are thrilled to welcome the members of Camden Police Federal Credit Union to the First Harvest family,” said Ernest Huggard, President and Chief Executive Officer of First Harvest Credit Union.  “We have tremendous respect for first responders, and we look forward to offering the dedicated members of the Camden Police Department the money-saving products, outstanding benefits, and world-class service they deserve.”

First Harvest Credit Union was founded in 1940 as the Industrial Union of Marine and Shipbuilding Workers of America Federal Credit Union, established to serve the employees of the former New York Shipbuilding Corporation. In 1973, the name was changed to South Jersey Maritime Federal Credit Union, and beginning in 1979, the organization became known as South Jersey Federal Credit Union. Today, the credit union operates ten branches throughout Southern New Jersey and Pennsylvania, serving over 54,000 members and more than 700 employer groups.
